Why BEACON Exists

Las Vegas built the world’s most successful entertainment economy. Now it can become a model for human creativity.

The city has global visibility, millions of visitors, and an economy powered by imagination. Yet many residents still face limited access to arts education, creative workforce pathways, cultural participation, and community-centered creative spaces. BEACON was created to help close that gap.

The Gap

Limited access to professional arts education and creative trades training.
Few cultural spaces connecting residents, wellness, education, and public imagination.
A need for creative career pathways aligned with entertainment, tourism, media, museums, and cultural production.

The BEACON Response

Educational programs that teach creative skills and hands-on artistic practice.
Immersive experiences that turn audiences into active participants.
A sustainable model where cultural experiences help fund community programs.
Mission and Vision

Why Human Creativity Matters
Technology is changing the world. Human creativity remains essential.

As artificial intelligence and automation transform how people work, learn, communicate, and create, BEACON focuses on the capacities machines cannot replace.

Hands

Craftsmanship, material intelligence, making, building, shaping, repairing, and creating with physical presence.

Imagination

Original thinking, artistic expression, emotional intelligence, collaboration, and the courage to create what does not yet exist.

Community

Shared experiences that strengthen empathy, participation, belonging, awareness, and human connection.

Why Human Creativity Matters Now

Artificial intelligence is transforming how we work, learn, communicate, and create.

Machines can generate images, write text, compose music, and automate tasks that once required years of training.

But the more technology advances, the more valuable uniquely human capacities become.

Imagination. Empathy. Craftsmanship. Presence. Meaning.

BEACON Arts Foundation of Las Vegas exists to strengthen those capacities through arts education, experiential culture, creative workforce development, and creative wellbeing.

Because the future will not be defined only by what technology can do.

It will also be defined by what humanity chooses to preserve.

Artist • Educator • Cultural Systems Builder

“I don’t just build exhibitions. I build cultural systems.”

ARTEO

Artist, educator, and cultural systems builder who has dedicated more than four decades to exploring how imagination, craft, and creativity can transform people, communities, and cultures.

From his first steps as a young illusionist to the creation of immersive museums, arts education programs, large-scale public events, and community projects, his work has connected art, education, social participation, and human development.

Thousandsof students trained through Metamorphosis FX.

The Story

At twelve, ARTEO was already working as an illusionist, entertaining children’s birthdays and family events. One year later, he discovered the world of makeup, characterization, and special effects. What began as curiosity became a vocation that would shape the rest of his life.

His learning did not follow a traditional path. He learned by observing, experimenting, building, making mistakes, and trying again. Over time, he came to understand dyslexia not as a limitation, but as a different way of perceiving reality. What could be difficult in some contexts became a creative advantage: the ability to connect unexpected ideas, recognize subtle patterns, and imagine original solutions.

At seventeen, he founded Metamorphosis FX. What began as a small project driven by passion grew into one of Argentina’s most recognized schools in professional makeup, characterization, and special effects, training thousands of students over more than three decades.

For more than forty years, he has developed exhibitions, museums, immersive experiences, educational programs, public events, and community projects that have reached audiences ranging from small learning groups to tens of thousands of participants.

EB-1 Extraordinary Ability Recognition

In 2022, the United States Government recognized his trajectory through the EB-1 Extraordinary Ability classification, a distinction reserved for individuals who have demonstrated exceptional achievements and sustained recognition in their professional fields.

That recognition allowed him and his family to obtain permanent residency in the United States and marked the beginning of a new stage. After decades of building projects, training artists, and developing initiatives that impacted thousands of people, they made the decision to begin again in another country—not to repeat what had already been done, but to build something new.

70,000+ Participants in a Single Day

One edition of Zombie Walk Argentina gathered more than 70,000 participants in a single day, becoming one of the most significant participatory art and social awareness events of its kind.

Gallery of Astonishment

Founder and creator of Gallery of Astonishment, an immersive museum inaugurated in Buenos Aires more than fourteen years ago, designed to transform fear into curiosity, wonder into learning, and participation into a transformative experience.

A New Chapter

Today, from Las Vegas, ARTEO leads BEACON Arts Foundation of Las Vegas with the conviction that human creativity will remain one of the most valuable resources of the future.

His vision is to build cultural infrastructure capable of strengthening what no technology can replace: imagination, sensitivity, craft, empathy, and the human capacity to create meaning.

ARTEO is the current artistic identity of Gerardo Luciano Bernstein, previously known professionally in Argentina as GerBernstein.
